About Louise Reynolds freelance writer
After a long career in corporate communications and studies in journalism, I decided to combine my passions for travel and writing.
Travel is my great passion. I developed wanderlust very early. In fact, I made up my mind when I was only about four-years-old that one day I would travel the world. So far I’ve been lucky enough to visit about 30 countries on five continents and the Pacific islands. I also love my home state, and regularly explore regional Victoria.
I particularly love France and pretty much all things French. My favourite way to explore the world is on foot. My boots have taken me walking on some of the world’s famous trails including the Tour du Mont Blanc, Patagonia’s W Trek, the West Highland Way in Scotland, New Zealand’s Milford Track and the Great Wall of China.
Where I’ve been published
When I decided to try my hand at freelance journalism, travel writing was the obvious choice. Since mid-2015 my work has been published in Great Walks, French Provincial, Yarra Valley and Ranges Magazine, RACV Royal Auto, Gippsland Magazine, Provincial Living and Wilderness (New Zealand). I’m also a regular contributor to the Big Bus Tour and Travel Guide.
What I write about
My published work reflects my favourite places and pastimes. I’ve written about some of the people and places that make my home city of Melbourne one of the world’s top destinations for sport, culture and food. My articles have covered bushwalking in regional Victoria, touring by vintage steam train to the Goldfields and reviews of guided tours. I have also covered my favourite destinations in France and New Zealand.
